The Day that I Got Invited Into Nathan Wyburn's Studio to Take Some Snaps
Every now and then this project takes me somewhere unexpected, and this one was special. I was invited into the art studio of Cardiff-based portrait artist Nathan Wyburn, best known for creating incredible celebrity portraits out of everyday materials. If you’ve seen a portrait of Simon Cowell made from toast and marmite or Adele painted in Ketchup - that’s Nathan. His work has been exhibited internationally, featured on TV, and collected by huge names in music, film, and politics.
Being welcomed into his creative space to carry on my own stranger portrait project was a buzz. Normally I’m out on the streets catching people in the rawness of everyday Cardiff. This time, I got to step inside the world of an artist who’s built a career out of turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.
The result? A mix of my gritty street energy with Nathan’s inspiring studio atmosphere. Here’s a glimpse of what went down.
